February 2024 - Market Watch Newsletter - Nuggets - One Enchanted Evening

I realize by the time you are reading this article it’s the middle of February and Christmas is a distant memory. It’s just that so much happens around Christmas time that we can’t get it all in in one newsletter. Last month, we talked about our Caring and Sharing initiative that we undertake each year. This month I want to share the details of our Christmas Gala because it is such a special event at RE/MAX Garden City Realty.

The venue again this year was Club Roma in St. Catharines. Always a great location for a Christmas party. And this year they went out of their way to decorate for the season with Christmas trees and lots of glitter. And as always, the lovely Rachel Wilcox used her creative skills to design and build very lovely table centrepieces.

And while we all know the trend these days is ultra casual, obviously the people in attendance, especially the ladies, didn’t get the notice because everyone was wearing their Sunday go to meeting clothes and beyond. Fabulous.

A new addition this year and one that proved to be very popular was our ‘Glam Bot’ – basically, for those of you who are not familiar with the concept, it’s a photo cylinder. A raised platform that is encompassed by an orbiting camera, giving an amazing effect of the person or group standing and probably gyrating, while the background spins around them all 360⁰. Lots of fun and lots of postings on Facebook.

The people who used the Glam Bot, and that was most everybody, must have been having too much fun. Some time later our Broker’s wife was having lunch with a friend who happened to be at a neighbouring party in the hall and who commented on how much fun the party next door seemed to be having, not knowing it was us.

The food, always a highlight, was extra special this year with both roast beef and turkey as well as pasta, assorted salads, potatoes, dressing and an assortment of desserts including our signature 13th Street Winery pecan pie.

Music as always was provided by D.J. Dominoes who always does a great job. This year a lot of people were up on the dance floor throughout the night, and when they weren’t, they were gathered around the bar and lounge area mixing, mingling, chatting, laughing and generally spectating as their co-workers and friends performed in the Glam Bot.

As is always the case, our broker Wayne Quirk shared a Christmas thought or two drawing from the old T.V. series the millionaire. Leaving us with a challenge to make a difference by being a blessing wherever we go or whoever we are with.

It was indeed an enchanting evening. Fabulous time of year, Christmas. Fabulous event as always. And a fabulous group of people these RE/MAX family and friends. We are blessed indeed.
